As part of our aim to protect and enhance the environment, we try to recycle as much waste as possible. One example of this is our use of Community Wood Recycling. They are a network of enterprises providing an efficient and cost effective collection service for all types of waste wood from all sorts of building sites.
Quality is fundamental to every Evans & Co project.
From initial preparation through to the final details, we maintain consistently high standards of workmanship and professional conduct. We believe in taking responsibility for our work and building relationships with clients based on trust.
Our wider company values – leadership, safety, environment and sustainability, integrity, innovation and continuous improvement – guide the way our team approaches every project.
Safe working practices are an essential part of the way we operate.
We believe that no task is so important that it cannot be carried out safely. Our approach places the wellbeing of our workforce, clients, subcontractors and members of the public at the forefront of project delivery.
From site inductions and working practices to ongoing monitoring and site management, we aim to create safe, well-organised construction environments.
We believe construction projects should be managed with consideration for everyone affected by the work.
Evans & Co has a strong history with the Considerate Constructors Scheme, receiving Bronze Awards in 2015 and 2017 followed by a Silver Award in the 2018 National Site Awards.
The principles behind considerate construction closely reflect our own approach – maintaining well-presented sites, respecting neighbouring communities, protecting the environment, prioritising safety and valuing the people who work with us.
We recognise the impact construction can have on the environment and believe it is our responsibility to minimise that impact wherever practical.
Reducing waste, recycling materials and considering environmental performance form part of our approach to responsible construction.
We work to recycle as much construction waste as possible and have used organisations such as Community Wood Recycling to help ensure waste timber from building sites can be reused or recycled rather than unnecessarily disposed of.
Being a responsible contractor also means considering the communities in which we work.
Evans & Co has supported local schools, community activities and grassroots sport, including providing football kits for local teams and contributing equipment and practical support to community initiatives.
We believe businesses have an opportunity to make a positive contribution beyond the projects they deliver.
Maintaining high standards within construction depends on developing skilled people for the future.
We have established links with the CITB and local colleges and have employed and trained apprentices across a range of construction disciplines.
By providing practical experience and opportunities to develop their skills, we aim to help create competent construction professionals while maintaining the standards our industry requires.
